What we clear

Drain clearing and waterblasting

If water's backing up, pooling or draining slowly, there's a blockage somewhere. A high-pressure waterblaster cuts through what's causing it and scours the pipe wall clean, so it stays clear longer than rodding.

Blocked gully traps & outside drains

The classic Hawke's Bay call-out. Overflowing gully trap, foul smell, water pooling by the wall — usually roots or a solid build-up further down the line.

Tree roots in the line

Roots find the smallest crack and keep coming back. High-pressure cutting clears them out and gives you a proper look at how bad the line is.

Kitchen & laundry waste lines

Fat, grease and detergent scum narrow a pipe until it stops. Hot high-pressure water strips it off the walls rather than punching a hole through it.

Stormwater, sumps & downpipes

Silt, leaves and orchard debris block stormwater lines fast. Worth clearing before the next big Hawke's Bay downpour, not during it.

Rural & lifestyle block lines

Septic and long runs out to tanks on lifestyle blocks around Havelock North, Bridge Pa and Puketapu. Travel is included in the call-out.

Scope: we clear and waterblast existing drains. We don't install, alter or repair drains — if the blast reveals a broken, collapsed or root-damaged line, we'll show you what we've found and point you to a licensed drainlayer to fix it.

How it works

No surprises, start to finish

Call or text

Tell Stu what's happening and where. A photo of the drain by text helps a lot — he can often tell you what he's dealing with before he arrives.

Price agreed up front

You get the call-out price, the hourly rate after that, and whether the waterblaster is likely to be needed — before a hose comes off the truck. If it turns into a bigger job, you hear about it first.

Cleared and checked

We blast it clear, flush the line to make sure it's running properly, tidy up, and tell you honestly whether it's likely to come back.

Straight-up, told to you first

Common questions

Good to know

How soon can you get here?

Most Hastings, Havelock North and Napier jobs are same-day or next-day. If it's an active overflow, phone rather than text and Stu will tell you straight away where he can fit you in.

Do you work weekends?

Mon–Fri 7am to 6pm, plus emergency callouts on weekends. After-hours and weekend work is charged at a higher rate, and Stu will confirm the cost with you before he starts.

What will it cost?

The minimum call-out is $150 + GST, which covers travel and the first hour on site. After that it's $120 + GST per hour, billed in 15-minute increments. If the blockage needs the waterblaster — usually tree roots, silt or heavy build-up — that's $250 + GST. After-hours and weekend call-outs are charged at a higher rate, and you'll always have the cost confirmed before work starts.

Why waterblasting instead of a drain snake?

A rod or snake punches a hole through a blockage; the pipe walls stay coated and it usually blocks again. High-pressure water cuts roots and scours grease and silt off the pipe wall, so the line runs at full bore and stays clear longer.

What if the drain is actually broken?

Then blasting it won't fix it, and we'll say so. Installing, altering and repairing drains is restricted work that only a licensed drainlayer can carry out — we'll show you what we've found and point you to someone who can do it properly.

Do you do general plumbing?

No. Tideline is drain clearing and waterblasting only. Sanitary plumbing and drainlaying are restricted trades in New Zealand and must be done by a registered, licensed tradesperson.

How do I pay?

Invoice by email with bank transfer details, payable on the 20th or as agreed. Talk to Stu if you need something different.
